Our Mission
Adversity takes many forms and impacts youth everywhere, regardless of zip code or economic status. Our mission is to empower and equip students to become active change makers — fostering a deep sense of belonging, teaching elite problem-solving frameworks, and uniting young minds with local community partners and leaders to design lasting solutions for a better world.
The Project
The SOAR Youth Bootcamp started in 2017 when a passionate group of local leaders, educators, engineers, and designers noticed how impactful design thinking, problem-solving, and a sense of belonging are for youth — yet how inaccessible they remain in most traditional schools.
This project is run entirely by volunteers to connect, cultivate, and equip future leaders. During this intensive week, students use the design thinking framework (developed at Stanford and used in collaboration with Diversify by Design) to solve social issues in their local communities.
